Y Deryn Du (The Blackbird) is a vinyl recording of music from West Wales and Ireland. It was recorded for Fflach Tradd in Nant Peris, Ceredigion, in December 2022, and produced by Ceri Rhys Matthews.

The recording of The Blackbird Set Dance is on an F flute made in Bruges by Geert Lejeune. This setting of the tune is taken from the playing of John Doonan (The Lark in the Clear Air, Topic 1974).

The PDF file attached below contains an introduction to the project written in English, notes on the individual tracks in Welsh, and a text in flamboyant literary Irish describing the musician's trials and adventures while recording the album.
