Éire - Bruce Cardwell

Picture

Son of Belfast city, storyteller, singer and piper, Bruce Cardwell took to the road in his curly, corderoy years, hitched to Greece, busked Paris, hunted the hare, and drove his yellow caravan through the bog of Allen before moving to Wales. There, at a small railway station, he met Diarmuid Johnson, and, ticket or not, the pair toured together from Hereford to Harlech for a year. They met again in Poland in March (2009) to sing of life on the road, and to play the smoky music of horse-fairs, long weddings and warm kitchens. Their music is available in DVD form in the 25 minute-long Fonn Bóthair - A Song for the Road, recorded live in 2009.
